The State of Washington's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking an Accounts Payable & Payroll, Fiscal Analyst 1 (FA1) to join their South Puget Sound Region Finance team. This role involves processing vendor and employee payment claims, verifying payroll information, and managing credit card accounts, all while adapting to changes in policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable Specialist – Review & process vendor and employee payment claims according to DNR Interagency & Cooperator agreements, DES contracts, OFM, Internal DNR policy and procedure, and vendor terms
- Payroll Analysis - Verify and reconcile the semi-monthly payroll information for approximately 250 permanent and part-time employees
- Credit card administrator - Issue, monitor, and maintain all credit card accounts for SPS Region Purchasing & Fuel Cards
- Complete daily deposit of all cash & checks received at the region office
Skills
- One year of fiscal technical experience
- Experience using Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel in a professional setting
- Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable
- Experience using M365 – Includes Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive
- Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, and laws and practices – GAAP
- Ability to make decisions within delegated authority

- Associate degree or higher in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
- Knowledge of the Department of Natural Resources or OFM financial policies and procedures
- Experience using SAP software such as NaturE or HRMS
- Experience with government fiscal operations
- Demonstrated aptitude to learn business computer software systems
- Experience compiling financial analysis reports
