Job Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum alongside the director and implement for-credit courses and non-credit workshops that support accessible career education to students, faculty and staff.
• Design educational content and present to various audiences regarding career curriculum and career resources (academic advisors, student groups, etc.)
• Understand and leverage technology including Handshake, Brightspace, and other software platforms to deliver career educational content and support career education processes.
• Engage in proactive outreach and build relationships with department partners to strategically integrate career readiness curriculum into classrooms, syllabi and advising strategies.
• Collaborate with pre-professional organizations, and other special populations across campus providing support and guidance for career programming initiatives.
• Teach courses including: Major Choices Class, First Year Seminars, and S-Stem courses as needed.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of the Career Champions program across campus in collaboration with the director.
• Participate in helping to manage Career Fair logistics alongside staff to support employer engagement.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Experiential Education to solicit opportunities for students, engage new and current employers and develop new talent and pipelines.
• Compile and report data on employer relations activities, assess employer relations efforts, and provide feedback as to the effectiveness of such efforts.
• Work with employers and alumni to build relationships, to develop strategies for employer presence on campus, and recruitment efforts.
• Support the Director in developing and conducting assessments to measure impact on programming and services to promote career readiness and self-efficacy among students and alumni.
• Deliver Career Assessments as needed.
• Manage the administration of the annual First Destination Survey and prepare data reports to support the Director.
• Assist in recruiting, selection, training, and supervising Career Services Interns. With the potential to oversee entry level professional staff.
• Serve as primary lead for career coaching for master's level students and students in pre-professional programs (Law and Med).
• Stay up to date on job market trends, use of career services, trends in recruiting, job-offer data, and hiring results for students in various academic majors.
• Help formulate strategies for achieving greater participation rates for those majors that underuse available career resources.
• Participate in career development programs, including but not limited to, workshops, employer seminars, and meetings on campus and in the community.
• Collaborate with the Director in budget planning, strategic planning and new program development, goal setting, monthly and annual reports.
• Manage data and analytic reports via Handshake as needed.
• Participate in professional development activities and organizations at the local, state and national level
• Represent career and advising services on campus and in the community as needed.
• Serve as the departmental manager in the absence of the Director.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / ExperienceMaster's degree and at least two years full time experience in collegiate career services setting is required; prior experience in human resources/talent acquisition is a plus.Competencies / Skills

• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
• Experience with large scale event planning.
• Knowledge of career related topics/best practices or a willingness to learn
• Industry/employer relations work and career assessment knowledge is a plus.

Supervision of EmployeesPossible supervision of student employees. Potential for entry level staff supervision based on prior experience.
Work EnvironmentRequires some physical effort (i.e., standing and walking, light lifting (5-10 lbs.) and manual dexterity in the use of fingers or limbs in the operation of office equipment; extended periods of time at a keyboard. Possible community engagement outside of the Univeristy.

Work HoursThis twelve-month, full-time position is scheduled for 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours with some remote flexibility.
