The Billing Representative is responsible for continuous support within Revenue Cycle department.

This position is full-time, Monday – Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

This will be on-the-job training and the hours during training will be aligned to their schedule from Monday – Friday.
• All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Enter manual charges for various providers / departments.
• Resolve charge errors in Work Queues and submit as appropriate for reimbursement.
• Identify and report charge issues to Manager with regards to trends and issue to be resolved with the build team
• Knowledge of CPTÂ’s and ICD – 10 diagnosis codes
• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care and Commercial insurance billing rules
• Maintain appropriate documentation activity in accounts
• Working within a team environment
• Other duties as requested

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma / GED
• Must be 18 years of age OR older
• 2 years of experience with healthcare billing
• Data entry experience and ability to handle heavy data entry requests daily
• Windows PC experience and the ability to learn new complex computer software systems easily
• Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST from Monday – Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with multiple billing guidelines
• Epic experience

Telecommuting Requirements:
• Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
• Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
• Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
