About the Team
The Finance Innovation & Transformation team accelerates eBay's Finance organization by modernizing data, reporting, and processes. We partner across finance and business teams to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability through pragmatic delivery, clear definitions, and effective stakeholder enablement.
Role Summary
You will help standardize business definitions and taxonomies, support critical financial close/planning activities, strengthen data and reporting platforms, and enable stakeholders with user access, documentation, and training-so teams can trust insights and move faster.
What You'll Do
• Maintain and govern core business definitions, category taxonomies, and reporting dimensions; perform quality checks to ensure consistency across decision support and planning processes.
• Support financial reporting and planning cycles: refresh reporting content, reconcile discrepancies, validate outputs, and prepare stakeholders for release with crisp documentation.
• Contribute to modern data platform initiatives: capture data requirements, partner with engineering on pipelines and views, and validate dashboards for accuracy, usability, and adoption.
• Enable reporting portals: manage user/group access and roles, confirm top metrics and navigation, and guide stakeholders to definition-aligned views.
• Create business-friendly definitions, how-to guides, and training materials to improve adoption and decision quality.
• Provide backup coverage for teammates and perform knowledge transfer to ensure continuity, reduce single points of failure, and elevate team capability.
• Actively explore and develop subject-matter expertise in AI systems for finance, becoming a trusted resource for responsible, effective adoption.
• Partner across Finance, Business Units, and Data teams to align on Business Performance Metrics, region hierarchies, and category definitions and rollouts-tracking changes through testing to stable adoption.
• Participate in issue triage and impact analysis for executive-facing metrics; raise risks early and track resolution through standard project tools.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Data skills: Proficiency in SQL for analysis/reconciliation and strong Excel/Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups); familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
• Systems familiarity: Exposure to data warehouses/lakes and reporting environments; comfort reading data views and validating report logic.
• Communication: Clear, structured writing; ability to translate technical definitions into business-friendly guidance.
• Collaboration: Organized, responsive teammate; able to partner with analysts, engineers, and PMs to move work forward.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with finance data domains (e.g., Business Performance Metrics, revenue components, region hierarchies, product/category taxonomies) and definition governance. Prior experience with eBay data is a significant plus.
• Hands-on with access administration (roles/groups) and basic scripting/automation (e.g., Python, Apps Script) to streamline recurring tasks.
• Prior exposure to financial reporting cycles and reconciliation methods (e.g., lock timing, packaged file validation, variance analysis).

Additional Details
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$85,600 - $151,100
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
