Job Description Gilead’s mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As a Data & AI Platform Lead Integration Architect, you are responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision of all activities related to the integration of software components, and third-party solutions to meet the business requirements of the Gilead Data and AI platform. The integration needs are primarily focused on connecting various cloud-based software components to deliver seamless user experience. This individual is also responsible for developing and maintaining an application integration architecture blueprint for the platform and leading the software delivery efforts to realize the architecture. Responsibilities: Develop integration, API standards and patterns required to develop the self-serve capabilities for Gileads Data Mesh and Data & AI platform capabilities Develop and maintain the solution design for various integrations Oversee critical steps within the Software Development Life Cycle components that impact platform-wide development Lead an engineering team to realize the architecture to deliver capabilities Provide expert advice to project teams on use of integration technology, data architecture and modeling, system architecture including integration best practices Provide oversight through creation and review of of project work including detailed technical specifications and application code Manage internal resources as well as augmented or externally sourced team members Oversee development and support of front-end and back-end processes related to the Data and AI platform Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution Communicate project status to various levels of management Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, infrastructure, business and security architectures Occasional regional travel Basic Qualifications & Experience: 8+ years with BS/BA or 6+ years with MS/MA/MBA Preferred Qualifications & Experience: BA/BS degree preferred, and 10+ years of relevant work experience Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including Web services, APIs, React Single Page Apps, JSON, Data and ML services from various cloud providers Expertise in creating solutions with various AWS technologies Experience in leading agile software engineering teams Experience in various Data & ML technologies such as Spark, EMR, Databricks, Sagemaker Expertise in solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and project management Experience with the implementation of CI / CD practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery and regression test Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, Business teams and internal stakeholders Experience working with APIs from commercial SaaS applications A passion for all things tech and has a drive to experiment with new technologies to see where they can benefit the business Experience in a management or supervisory role on an integration development team Excellent communication skills An interest in staying hands-on technical as well as wearing that team management hat Established project management skills People Leader Accountabilities Create Inclusion – knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
