Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

As an Entry-Level Substation Civil/Structural Engineer at POWER Engineers, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that require a strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing civil and structural components for substations, including site work, foundations, and equipment layouts
• Collaborating with internal team members and external clients to ensure effective communication and project delivery
• Assisting in the permitting process and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Conducting site visits and surveys to gather data and inform design decisions
• Utilizing structural analysis design software to analyze and optimize designs
• Supporting the development of project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications
• Participating in project meetings and contributing to the development of project plans and schedules

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in civil and structural engineering, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. The essential qualifications for this role include:

• A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree from an accredited university
• Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates with:

• A minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) from their undergraduate studies
• Relevant coursework in structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying
• Experience with structural analysis design software
• Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially in civil and/or structural engineering
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
