About the Role
The Airport Operations Crew plays a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service at the airport. As a Crewmember, you'll be responsible for checking in customers, handling baggage, booking and selling flight reservations, and facilitating customer boarding and deplaning. You'll work closely with our customers, colleagues, and other departments to ensure that their needs are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Check customers' personal identification and ensure that they are properly documented for travel
- Tag, lift, and handle customer baggage with care and attention to detail
- Report flight arrivals, departures, and pre-boarding information via our public address system
- Communicate effectively with our customers to keep them informed about flight updates and other relevant information
- Offer ancillary products and services to our customers, such as "more speed" and "more space"
- Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to ensure that customers receive seamless service
- Assist with preparing the aircraft cabin for customer boarding and departure, including cleaning of seats, seat-pockets, and floor
- Operate airport equipment, such as jet bridges, air stairs, and handheld radios
- Help customers with special needs, such as those requiring assistance with boarding
- Perform other duties as assigned, including rotating through various Airport Operations-related functions
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
- At least 18 years of age
- One (1) year of customer service or sales experience
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to pass a customer service assessment
- Adherence to blithequark's Uniform Policy Manual Principles
- Ability to travel and work variable hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience using a computer, keyboard, and basic word processing, email, and office applications
- Ability to use handheld radios and receivers to communicate with operations and make terminal announcements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Identification
- Experience working under pressure and within fixed time constraints
- Legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug assessment
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly preferred:
- Two (2) years of customer service, volunteer, or sales experience
- Knowledge of customer service standards and practices
- Experience working with various forms of payment (cash, credit cards, traveler's checks, etc.)
- Previous airline experience
- Bilingual skills

Work Environment and Equipment
As an Airport Operations Crew at blithequark, you'll work in an airport environment, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and elevated noise levels. You'll be required to stand for extended periods and may be needed to cover irregular operations, which can result in extended workdays. You'll use various equipment, including:
- Computers and other office equipment
- Public Address System
- Jet bridges and air stairs (customer enplaning/deplaning equipment)
- Handheld radios
- Unsupported computer booths used to identify and manage customer reservations
- Light Emitting Diode (LED) screens and signs
Physical Demands
This role requires moderate physical activity, including handling items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and potentially 70-100 pounds occasionally with the assistance of others or equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
