Job Summary

The Athletic Events Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the success of the athletic program by adhering to and supporting all policies and procedures of the Department of Physical Education, Athletics & Recreation and University. This includes working closely with the Middle Atlantic Conference and MAC Freedom, the NCAA, and other authorities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sport and intercollegiate athletics, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination of home event management, including set-up and break down, crowd control, and serving as a visiting team liaison
• Ensure that all aspects of the facility are safe and in good working order, including playing surface, scoreboard, sound system, team equipment, and locker rooms
• Responsible for the scoreboard and table operations for various sports, requiring an understanding of each sport, including timing, scoring, and statistics
• Train and supervise student game day staff to ensure effective event management
• Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participate regularly in available professional development opportunities
• Perform all other responsibilities as assigned by the Department of Physical Education, Athletics & Recreation

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred
• A background in sport and intercollegiate athletics is preferred
• First Aid, CPR, AED training certification required
• Ability to work early morning, evening, weekends, and holidays
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

• Experience in event management, game day operations, and team support
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
• Experience working with student staff and volunteers
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
