Key Responsibilities

• Utilize Walgreens' prescription data entry methodology and guidelines to process new patient enrollments by entering data into the appropriate system.
• Handle patient prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
• Research and obtain missing prescription data, and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
• Resolve all data entry-related exceptions and handle correspondence with patients (inbound calls, visits, messages) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed.
• Resolve third-party exceptions by investigating, gathering information, creating claims, and resubmitting for processing according to individual plan requirements.
• Provide support to pharmacists, both in-office and in other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic level computer skills, including:
  • Starting up and shutting down a computer.
  • Using a mouse to point and click.
  • Starting and closing programs.
  • Switching between programs.
  • Saving files.
  • Printing documents.
  • Accessing information online.
• Basic browser skills, including:
  • Opening a browser.
  • Typing URLs in the correct location.
  • Using a search engine.
  • Bookmarking a webpage.
  • Navigating using back/forward/stop buttons.
  • Completing forms online.
• Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, organizing documents).
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience in a retail or call center environment.
• At least 1.5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a certification/registration by the state as approved by the State Board of Pharmacy or a widely recognized certification agency.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction.
• Intermediate to advanced level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, organizing documents).
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
