About the Role: Cloud Engineer – Microsoft Azure Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure to join our dynamic team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the technical future of Costco Wholesale, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure environments. Your expertise in Microsoft Azure will be essential in delivering practical technical solutions, ensuring compatibility and consistency with other public, private, or hybrid cloud solutions, and providing real-world Azure solutions and engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build prototypes of potential features and improve automation of applications, systems, and platforms to continuously optimize and improve processes.
- Apply knowledge to practical and sustainable applications and capabilities, contributing to the development of business, technical, project, and operational strategies.
- Formulate and direct activities that align short-term goals and long-term initiatives, providing accurate and timely estimates of work disruption schedules.
- Influence and drive the adoption of best practices and high-quality standards across the division, integrating various solution components across multiple platforms using industry-standard interfaces.
- Test and resolve issues, perform root cause analysis, identify gaps, recommend solutions and preventative measures, and guide team members towards solution delivery plans.
- Perform proof of concepts and use diagnostic/debugging capabilities to solve today's challenges in cross-platform systems, orchestrating reviews for system additions and/or improvements.
- Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk prevention/mitigation, and corporate responsibility throughout the organization, optimizing team efficiency and performance through high-level technical leadership.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or information technology.
- 1-3 years of experience in scripting to automate operational tasks, with the ability to advise and guide various team members through several concurrent projects.
- Familiarity with cloud methodologies and a passion for cloud technologies, with experience working with Microsoft Azure preferred.
- Strong understanding of industry-standard interfaces, such as XML, SOAP, REST, PowerShell, and Puppet.
Preferred Qualifications:
- More than 3 years of experience implementing enterprise cloud technologies, with more than 2 years of experience with enterprise software systems.
- Microsoft Azure certification, with experience working with the Azure portal and console.
- Experience with cloud capacity planning, security best practices for cloud applications, and consulting on running proof of concepts and recommendations on best use of Azure services.
