Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and correspondence, responding to policyholder inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Explain policy coverage, claim status, and assist with claim payments or other policy information to policyholders and interested third parties.
- Process policyholder requests from various channels, including phone calls, emails, and correspondence.
- Review and maintain new and revised procedures regarding policy information, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain department standards for call volume, average handle time, and time management.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, both written and oral, and organization skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Utilize basic PC skills and software applications to efficiently manage workflow.
- Handle high-stress situations calmly and with tact and professionalism.
- Make informed decisions and analyze situations to draw logical conclusions.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- At least one year of office experience preferred; telecommunications experience a plus.
- Life and Health insurance background and knowledge of insurance operations desired.
- Excellent customer service background and good phone skills.
- Strong communication, both written and oral, and organization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Excellent alpha and number recognition skills.
- Demonstrated mathematical abilities.
- Basic PC skills and software applications.
- Able to handle high-stress situations calmly and with tact and professionalism.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze situations and make logical conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills; pay differential available.
- Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
- Reliable and predictable attendance.
- Ability to work full-time and/or part-time based on the specific position.
