About the Data Scientist Role
We are looking for talented data scientists who can drive business and product decisions through data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities
- Identify business issues and opportunities for product and service enhancement, providing strategic or tactical recommendations based on your analysis.
- Utilize your knowledge of data cleansing, wrangling, quantitative analysis, and data mining to solve complex problems and drive business decisions.
- Analyze customer and product interactions to gain insights into user behavior and preferences.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to address issues, uncover trends and opportunities, and inform product decisions and launches.
- Forecast and set product team goals, design and evaluate experiments, and monitor key product KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and evaluate reports and dashboards to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Build and maintain large datasets to enable operational and exploratory analysis, defining and evaluating key metrics to measure business performance.
- Specify roadmap priorities, identify new levers to drive critical metrics, and create user behavior models for analysis or to drive manufacturing systems.
- Present data-driven recommendations to product teams, influencing decision-making and driving business outcomes.
- Communicate business insights, experiment results, and other key findings to product teams, educating analytics and product teams on best practices.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree, MA, or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, or Engineering.
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a data scientist, with a strong understanding of data mining, data models, segmentation techniques, and database design development.
- Ability to structure, analyze, and extract data according to business requirements, with experience in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, MATLAB).
- Fluency in English to collaborate effectively with engineering managers and other stakeholders.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Advanced degree (MA or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field.
- Experience working with large datasets, cloud-based data platforms, and machine learning algorithms.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques, with the ability to communicate complex insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
