Job Summary

As a Database Analyst at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing support for various SQL database environments of low to moderate complexity and SQL DB solutions to meet application development requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to fulfill database activity requirements, ensuring the efficient storage and retrieval of data. Your expertise will help us optimize our database performance, ensure data integrity, and support the development of new applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve common database issues and perform disaster recovery tasks to ensure minimal downtime and data loss.
• Perform routine database maintenance activities, including file maintenance, backups (full, differential, and log backups), and SQL server patching.
• Develop and implement database estimating and performance tuning practices to optimize database performance and ensure scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet application requirements.
• Provide technical support and training to junior team members and stakeholders on database management best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Strong understanding of database management systems, including SQL Server and database design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex database issues and develop effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-based SQL technologies, including Azure IaaS and PaaS.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience with SQL AOG and DB Mirroring.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance regulations.
