We're now seeking an experienced Policy Lead to join our Global Policy and Standards team, focusing on monetized products and digital advertising.
About the Role
As a Policy Lead, you will play a critical role in developing, launching, and implementing fair and consistent policies that protect the online safety of our users. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers, sales managers, and attorneys, to reach consensus on policy issues and drive awareness of user-focused product policies. Your expertise in analyzing and managing risk, particularly around advertisements for heavily regulated products, will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Trust and Safety, and Engineering to shape product development, prioritize user experience, and ensure ads provide transparency, choice, and control.
- Drive awareness and understanding of user-focused product policies both internally and externally, and educate on fundamental principles related to regulated industries, consumer protection, and privacy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies for Google products, balancing risk management, user safety, product quality, and privacy.
- Advance conversations around best practices in digital content policy and share insights from policy reviews with internal stakeholders.
- Resolve high-profile policy escalations from users and internal teams.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A JD, MBA, or Master's degree.
- Experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policy.
- Experience in digital ad sales or support.
- Understanding of the digital advertising landscape.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000-$150,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Our compensation package includes:
