Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the documentation required by US Customs and Government Agencies for the entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and record-keeping requirements.
• Provide impeccable customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or customs, utilizing your knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.
• Perform data entry and processing of various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs, handling all Participating Government Agencies (PGAs) as required.
• Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation, adhering to all international importing and exporting regulations and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Work closely with internal staff, departments, other FedEx operations, and customers to deliver a high level of service, fostering strong relationships and collaboration to achieve shared goals.
• Process agency brokerage shipments and handle remote filings as needed, utilizing your knowledge of customs procedures and regulations to ensure seamless execution.
• Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity in all aspects of your work.
• Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating your flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with a minimum of 6 months of work experience preferred.
• Data entry and keyboard experience required, with proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle a high volume of time-sensitive work.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to use multiple systems and reference materials, with intermediate computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite and data entry preferred.

• Ability to work from home, with a dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection, and remain within 50 miles of the office location when working remotely.
