Job Summary
In this fully remote, full-time position, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and overseeing all phases of manual and automated testing for our travel industry clients. You will mentor and train client test teams in testing best practices and our testing methodology, manage and supervise a test team, and lead test meetings to ensure timely test execution and defect reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee all phases of manual and automated testing, including development of test strategy, plans, and schedules using our testing methodology
- Mentor and train client test teams in testing best practices and our testing methodology for both manual and automated testing
- Manage and supervise a test team through all test phases to ensure proper test result documentation and timely test execution, defects/issues reporting, and retest
- Lead and facilitate test meetings, escalating issues or concerns to the project management team as needed
- Monitor issues and defects for trends and provide key metrics and status updates as required throughout the project
- Provide oversight of requirement traceability during all test phases to ensure teams have met business requirements
- Lead the preparation of business scenarios and required test scripts, including identification of needed data to execute end-to-end testing
- Participate in design workshops, specification walkthroughs, and requirement reconciliation
- Work closely with other project groups to increase the quality of software delivered
- Provide key metrics and status updates as required throughout the project
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of testing experience as a test automation engineer on large software implementation projects, including completion of 2 full implementation projects
- Experience in utility software implementation projects and testing
- Experience in using Quality Center or Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Business Process Test (BPT) components
- Understanding of customer relationship management
- People management and leadership skills, including coaching, supervision, staffing, career growth, and conflict management
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to maintain a high degree of quality
- In-depth knowledge of the SDLC as well as various software testing methodologies
- Consulting experience
- Expertise in SQL scripting for moderate to expert level data mining and reporting
- Significant experience with development of user-defined functions and classes using Scala and Java
- Knowledge and understanding of the utility industry
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, math, or business, or equivalent body of experience in the Project Testing Field
- Experience creating and using a keyword-driven framework for both manual and automated testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the full project management discipline, including project initiation, implementation, and closure
- Experience using, administering, and training on testing tools such as the Micro Focus Suite (QC, ALM, UFT, BPT, WinRunner, LoadRunner QuickTest Pro, etc.)
- Experience using Selenium
- Experience with at least one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java Script, Scala, VBScript, VB or C++, Python)
- Certification in automation tools and/or methodology preferred
