Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized State Capacity Building Intern to join our team in supporting the State Capacity Building Director. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in planning and implementing our network-wide annual conference, developing our communication platforms, and providing valuable support to state affiliates and conference attendees. Key Responsibilities
- Support the State Capacity Building Director in planning and implementing the network-wide annual conference, including event logistics, agenda design, and communication with attendees and state affiliates.
- Provide administrative support, including collecting and disseminating network-wide resources, managing conference materials, and coordinating travel arrangements for attendees.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of our communication platforms, including digital event management tools and collaborative software.
- Build facilitation skills and incorporate inclusive practices into our online and in-person gatherings, ensuring that all events are accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
- Work collaboratively with state affiliates, conference planning teams, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals and advance the mission of LCV.
- Provide onsite event support during the conference, which will be held in San Francisco, CA, from May 12-16, 2025.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in supporting event coordination and planning, with a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data, and prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, with experience in using digital event management tools and collaborative software.
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental protection and social justice, with a passion for working to dismantle systems of oppression and promote equity and inclusion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the non-profit sector, with a focus on environmental advocacy and social justice.
- Knowledge of event planning software and digital tools, including Swoogo and Google Workspace.
- Experience in facilitating online and in-person gatherings, with a strong understanding of inclusive practices and cultural competency.
