Essential Qualifications: What We're Looking For
To succeed as a substitute teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need:
- A background in or passion for education.
- A commitment to putting students first and celebrating their success.
- A growth mindset and an empathetic nature.
- A drive to be the best version of yourself.
- To take a TB Risk Assessment & Live Scan (we'll cover the cost).
- Either a 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit or a CA Teaching Credential (having one of these will increase your work opportunities).
Preferred Qualifications: What Sets You Apart
While not mandatory, having experience in or knowledge of:
- Special Education (SpEd), Resource Specialist, or IEP support.
- Subjects like Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, or Theatre Studies.
- Working with diverse age groups, from Kinder to High School.
