About the Role
This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas to drive success. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing American Express EIRP teams in both the US and UK, building an adaptive team with the right people, processes, and technology to excel in internal and external investigations, incident response, and driving mitigation of any associated risks. You will collaborate across technology and business departments and influence the direction of incident response decisions with a business/regulatory compliance approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct American Express EIRP teams in both the US and UK to ensure effective incident response and compliance
- Build an adaptive team with the right people, processes, and technology to excel in internal and external investigations, incident response, and driving mitigation of any associated risks
- Collaborate across technology and business departments to influence the direction of incident response decisions with a business/regulatory compliance approach
- Ensure incident response plans and procedures are maintained and followed, while driving alignment to applicable compliance laws and regulatory requirements
- Confidently lead conference calls with large numbers of stakeholders, including C-suite, to communicate incident response plans and progress
- Mature Key Program Metrics through a reporting strategy and platform that meets business and global market compliance needs
- Mentor, encourage, and develop a diverse team with different experience levels to support personal and professional growth
- Cultivate an inclusive and growth mindset culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Passion for cyber security, incident response, data privacy, governance, risk, and compliance, with a strong understanding of industry trends and best practices
- Authority in incident handling, forensic investigation enablement/management, data privacy, and global cyber regulatory compliance requirements, with experience in implementing effective incident response plans
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of Incident Response lifecycles and Incident Handling (NIST, SANS) processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios
- Ability to convey complex incident response concepts to audiences with varying levels of technical or business knowledge, with excellent communication and presentation skills
- Desire to grow and expand both technical and soft skills, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- After hours issues and on-call responsibilities may be required periodically, with the ability to work flexible hours and respond to urgent incidents
- Some international travel may be required annually, with the ability to travel to different locations for meetings, training, and other business purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal external Certifications including, but not limited to: CISM, CISA, CISSP, with a strong understanding of industry-recognized certifications and their application in incident response and compliance
