Position Overview
The Logistics & Demand Planning Coordinator is responsible for overseeing end-to-end inventory planning, production logistics, and supply chain execution across the U.S., UK, and EU. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive—comfortable navigating cross-border logistics, vendor management, forecasting models, customs compliance, and 3PL coordination. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with Production, Operations, Marketing, Finance, Customer Support, and external manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Planning & Forecasting
• Own weekly/monthly demand planning and forecasting for all product lines across 3PLs (USA & Europe) and Amazon FBA.
• Monitor sell-through rates, safety stock levels, OOS risk, and aging inventory; maintain comparative trend charts and forecasting models.
• Conduct SKU-level analysis to prevent overstock, stockouts, and expirations (using FEFO principles).
• Coordinate replenishment timelines with domestic and international warehouses.
Supply Chain & Production Coordination
• Issue POs, track production runs, manage lead times, and ensure on-time inbound shipments.
• Coordinate with manufacturers on production schedules, packaging availability, and lot traceability.
• Ensure FEFO allocation, batch tracking, and compliance documentation.
• Align production timing with forecasting needs, seasonality, and marketing calendars.
Logistics Execution & Compliance
• Manage cross-border freight bookings, customs clearance, and import/export documentation.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, CBP, USDA, EU General Food Law, FSVP, and traceability requirements.
• Oversee ISF filing, HTS classification, commercial invoices, and certificates of analysis.
• Resolve transit delays, customs holds, and quality discrepancies.
Cost Optimization & Vendor Management
• Negotiate rates with freight forwarders, warehouses, co-packers, and customs brokers to reduce logistics and fulfillment costs.
• Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to reduce spend and increase supply chain reliability.
• Maintain performance scorecards for all operational vendors.
Production Inventory & Quality Assurance
• Track raw material and packaging inventory levels at co-packers to prevent production delays.
• Ensure production partners meet Yumwoof’s quality standards and provide all required food safety documentation (COAs, batch records, lot traceability).
• Communicate QC issues or deviations immediately and collaborate on corrective action plans.
Systems & Process Development
• Improve SOPs for forecasting, compliance, inventory reconciliation, and shipment coordination.
• Develop automation tools that reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
• Support raw material/packaging tracking with manufacturers to prevent production delays.
• Assist Customer Support with logistics-related inquiries (delays, customs issues, tracking).
Reporting & Cross-Team Collaboration
• Generate weekly/monthly reports on inventory health, forecasting accuracy, landed costs, and supply chain KPIs.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Finance on demand planning for promotions and product launches.
• Communicate clearly with Customer Support, Operations, and Production partners.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, inventory management, and logistics — ideally within e-commerce, food, or CPG.
• Proven experience in inventory management, forecasting, merchandising, or a similar role in a retail or e-commerce environment.
• Must have experience importing products into the USA and navigating CBP and EU regulations for food products.
• Expertise in cross-border logistics & compliance, including INCOTERMS, Importer Security Filing (ISF), Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, and customs documentation.
• Experience with Shopify, ShipStation, FBA, and other eCommerce logistics platforms.
• Strong negotiation skills with freight forwarders, warehouses, and customs brokers.
• Familiarity with food-specific compliance, including FDA Prior Notice, FSVP, and EU traceability regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact across different cultures and teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, taking initiative to identify and resolve logistics challenges before they escalate.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic remote environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• Detail-oriented in logistics operations while being personable and solution-focused in customer interactions.
• Strong analytical skills to manage supply chain KPIs and optimize inventory levels.
• Upbeat and friendly personality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
