About the position
Responsibilities
• Provide strategic leadership to the Analytical Chemistry team.
• Champion innovation and lead the analytical Innovation & Expertise program.
• Identify innovation opportunity areas and create implementation plans.
• Convey ideas and design experiments to confirm project feasibility.
• Represent the analytical department in product development activities.
• Manage testing strategies across brands to meet project timelines.
• Create an open and collaborative environment for team communication.
• Assess team needs and define measurable goals.
• Assist analytical chemists in conducting analyses.
• Prepare analyses, reports, and recommendations for partners and management.
• Maintain adherence to safety policies and regulations.
• Lead internal projects within cross-functional initiatives.
• Drive problem-solving and provide technical recommendations.
• Manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Participate in L'Oréal's international analytical technical communities.
Requirements
• A completed Masters or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry.
• 5-7 years of industry experience in an analytical chemistry setting.
• Experience in the cosmetics or personal care industry preferred.
• Lab management experience and management of direct reports preferred.
• Strong experimental background using mass spectrometry.
• Experience with LC/GC MS-based systems.
• General knowledge across multiple analytical disciplines.
• Experience managing large projects in a complex organization.
• Strong organizational planning and project management skills.
• Ability to motivate others and work collaboratively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Base Salary Range: $107,600 - $153,300.
