We are looking for an experienced professional to work remotely from within the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. The incumbent will be expected to come into a CareFirst location periodically for meetings, training and/or other business related activities.
PURPOSE:
The MCG Product Owner is a unique hybrid role combining hands-on configuration, maintenance, and support of MCG Cite Auto Auth and WebQI with the subject matter expertise to drive new initiatives and enhancements that support efficient and effective utilization management decisions. This individual will be the “one-person army” and the go-to person for the organization for any MCG or CareWebQI related questions, responsible for the day-to-day management of these products, ensuring their optimal functionality and alignment with evolving business needs, with a particular focus on cost of care considerations. The MCG Product Owner will also play a key role in the development and implementation of… cost care-related expansion projects, leveraging their in-depth knowledge of the MCG product suite.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead the efforts of defining the Product Backlogs by working closely with the clinical teams and clinical platform leaders. Defines the Product Roadmap and uses it along with the Product Vision to develop epics and features, builds a Product Backlog and reviews it with business owners to determine business value and to assign priority. Determines the acceptance criteria and has the authority to accept or reject development team deliverables. Be able to articulate the value proposition of the tools to different stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and IT personnel. Is accountable for the success of the product or component under their purview. Configure and maintain MCG Cite Auto Auth and WebQI to meet the specific needs of the organization. Manage user access, permissions, and roles within the tools. Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions to ensure seamless operation. Implement updates, patches, and enhancements as needed. Monitor system performance and proactively address potential problems
• Guides Business Analysts on how to break down the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) into the user stories and shares expertise in writing effective user stories. Provides inputs to the Scrum Master on improvement opportunities with grooming sessions. Engages with clients, internal and external business partners and key stakeholders, and/or customers on as-needed basis to educate and provide relevant information about the product. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and develop implementation plans. Work closely with the MCG vendor to ensure smooth execution of new initiatives. Monitor the success of enhancements and make adjustments as needed
• Support culture change to improve delivery agility. Leverage your product knowledge to provide strategic guidance on the future direction of the tools within the organization. Supports team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering a feedback culture. Mentors Product Owners to ensure their success.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
• Certified Scrum Product Owner Preferred.
Experience: 6 years IT and business analysis, business development, solutions development, systems analysis, technical design/development, implementation OR 4 years product owner experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous healthcare experience.
• Advanced degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite ability.
• Knowledge of project planning and life cycle development.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to recognize, analyze and solve a variety of problems.
• Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $91,656 – $182,039

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration.
