Job Description:
• Perform regulatory activities to determine compliance with state and/or federal Medicare/Medicaid requirements
• Conduct independent administrative investigations of unlicensed health care workers in various health care settings
• Testify frequently in administrative hearings
• Complete documentation using computer and database access
• Frequent travel including some overnights and lifting/carrying of laptop computer and other equipment.
• Work independently under supervision of a regional supervisor
Requirements:
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
• One year of experience in the area of specialization
• Strong clinical background, including considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease process, body systems, and current clinical diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Demonstrated ability to use computer technology and complete work assignments electronically
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills to conduct, review, gather, assess, and evaluate information for compliance with applicable standards
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a vehicle
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes and travel as required.
