Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll & HRIS Analyst to support the administration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of our payroll and human resources systems. This role will serve as a key resource for payroll processing, HRIS administration, reporting, compliance, audits, and system improvements. Ideal Candidate Profile You have a combined strong payroll expertise with technical HRIS skills and enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring data integrity. You thrive in both payroll operations and systems administration. You're comfortable investigating payroll issues, building reports, auditing data, and improving processes. You enjoy working independently while collaborating across departments and can balance compliance, accuracy, and customer service in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Rippling is highly desirable, though candidates with experience in other HRIS and payroll platforms are encouraged to apply. Position Type • Full-Time • Remote (U.S.-based) Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration • Audit multi-state payrolls to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Review payroll data including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit elections. • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies. • Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing. • Assist with payroll tax compliance and agency notices. HRIS Administration • Maintain employee data within the HRIS and payroll systems. • Configure and support workflows, approvals, security roles, and system integrations. • Assist with system implementations, upgrades, testing, and process improvements. • Monitor data integrity and perform regular audits. • Support onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes. Reporting & Analytics • Develop, maintain, and analyze payroll and HR reports. • Create ad hoc reports for Finance, HR, and leadership teams. • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. • Support internal and external audits. Compliance & Process Improvement • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. • Document payroll and HRIS procedures. • Recommend and implement efficiency improvements. • Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Operations teams on cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications Required • 3+ years of payroll administration experience. • 3+ years of HRIS administration experience. • Experience processing multi-state payroll. • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and wage reporting requirements. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred • Experience with Rippling Payroll and HRIS. • Experience with HRIS implementations, conversions, or system migrations. • Benefits administration experience. • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or organizational growth. • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, and leave administration. • Experience with reporting tools and data analytics.
