The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a Program Support Analyst to join their diverse team. This role involves performing complex analytical duties and providing staff assistance on sensitive departmental and program matters, contributing to large-scale health initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex and varied analytical duties
- Provide staff assistance on sensitive departmental and program matters
- Work independently and maintain working relationships with numerous internal and external partners
- Evaluate OSP needs and provide recommendations to management
- Collaborate closely with team members and internal/external partners to contribute to the successful implementation of large-scale initiatives
Skills
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, independence and organization
- Knowledge of current office methods and procedures with particular reference to the work done by the OSP
- Experience supporting complex behavioral health programs, including overseeing data collection systems, developing or monitoring contracts and grants, and ensuring program or fiscal compliance with state and federal regulations
- Knowledge of the public behavioral health system, including delivery systems and services
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of federal and state policies for Medicare and Medicaid
- Ability to develop new processes and procedures for a new program area
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment; functioning effectively under demanding and competing deadlines and priorities
- Ability to work on confidential and sensitive assignments and exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, sound judgment in performing assigned tasks
- Ability to analyze situations and adopt effective courses of actions and/or processes
- Ability to conduct independent research and make recommendations to leadership
- Knowledge and experience related to federal and state regulatory and legislative processes
- Effective communication, business acumen, decision making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use sound decision-making skills while working in a fast-paced work environment
