Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Bookkeeper / Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations for our real estate portfolio. This role requires hands-on experience in real estate accounting, with strong proficiency in QuickBooks and AppFolio. The ideal candidate understands property management financials, maintains accurate records, and ensures timely and compliant reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for real estate properties
- Record and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks and AppFolio
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and tenant charges
- Process rent rolls, owner statements, and property financial reports
- Reconcile bank and trust accounts
- Track security deposits and ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking
- Coordinate with property managers, owners, and external accountants
- Support year-end closing and tax preparation
Requirements
- Proven experience in real estate accounting or bookkeeping (MUST)
- Strong working experience with QuickBooks (MUST)
- Hands-on experience using AppFolio (MUST)
- Solid understanding of property management accounting principles
- Experience handling multiple properties and accounts
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
