The Clinical Intelligence, Product Strategy role involves serving as the primary clinical voice within the Product organization, ensuring that product development is grounded in sound clinical practice and patient safety principles while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Drive alignment across teams through data, strategic framing, and relationship-building
- Navigate ambiguity and competing stakeholder interests with confidence
- Contribute to the evolution of the RxSS Product Delivery Framework for clinical workstreams
- Seek input from diverse perspectives across the organization
- Develop clinical strategies that advance patient outcomes in response to market shifts that impact health benefits coverage, managed care and market access relationships between Payer and Biopharma companies
- Serve as the resident clinical pharmacist resource for the product team, providing guidance on drug utilization, formulary design, therapeutic alternatives, and medication access considerations as they relate to new and existing product capabilities
- Review new product concepts and features for clinical appropriateness, patient safety risk, and alignment with pharmacy practice standards, managed care and market access strategies; document clinical rationale for product decisions
- Apply clinical expertise to inform savings logic, clinical content, member-facing messaging, and therapeutic substitution recommendations embedded in the RxSS platform
- Monitor evolving clinical guidelines, drug utilization trends, and regulatory changes that may affect product strategy, and translate these into actionable insights and strategic direction for the product roadmap
- Establish scalable processes, templates, and playbooks for clinical review work
- Document clinical review patterns, decision frameworks, and drug utilization learnings
- Share industry trends, competitive intelligence, and best practices with the product organization
Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy and active PharmD required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent, and typically requires 7+ years of relative experience in product management, product strategy, or clinical pharmacy within healthcare technology, pharmacy benefits, or SaaS
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to translate clinical knowledge into product decisions, including patient safety review, clinical content development, and drug utilization guidance
- Deep understanding of the pharmacy benefit landscape, drug utilization management, formulary design, and clinical pharmacy practice
- Experience building prioritization and evaluation frameworks
- Strong executive communication and influence skills
- Self-directed execution and comfort navigating ambiguity
- Experience with pharmacy savings, medication access, or care-navigation products
- Familiarity with agile product development environments and SAFe principles
- Experience within the McKesson or CoverMyMeds ecosystem
- Proficiency using AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making
