The Community Growth & Support Manager is responsible for driving membership growth and community presence by recruiting new members, launching new troops, and maintaining strong relationships with existing volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Execute local recruitment strategies to attract new girls and families within the assigned territory
- Represent the organization at schools, community events, open houses, and recruitment activities
- Partner with marketing and growth teams to support regional and grassroots outreach efforts
- Lead the formation and launch of new troops or groups, including identifying opportunities and matching leaders with participants
- Support new troop startups through onboarding, early-stage guidance, and coordination with internal teams
- Ensure new troops are set up for success with clear processes, resources, and connections
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community centers, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and local businesses
- Identify partnership opportunities that increase visibility and access to potential members
- Serve as a trusted local representative and ambassador for the organization
- Maintain a visible and engaged presence within the assigned territory
- Attend community meetings, events, and gatherings to strengthen awareness and relationships
- Stay informed about local demographics, schools, and community trends that impact growth
- Provide ongoing support to existing volunteers and troops, ensuring they feel connected and supported
- Answer questions, troubleshoot challenges, and connect volunteers to appropriate resources
- Partner with retention and experience teams to identify risks, celebrate successes, and encourage continued involvement
Skills
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, recruitment, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Comfort working independently in a field-based role
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across a geographic territory
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
- Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends required
- Current valid drivers' license, proof of vehicle insurance, and vehicle availability
- Ability to travel to sites within the Council's jurisdiction
- Experience in nonprofit, membership-based, or youth-serving organizations
- Background working with volunteers
- Knowledge of local community networks, schools, or family-serving systems
