They are looking for a Customer Service Associate to support patient account services, focusing on medical billing follow-up and patient financial records management.
Responsibilities
- Manage medical billing follow-up activities by reviewing outstanding accounts and taking appropriate action to help resolve payment issues
- Examine explanation of benefits documentation carefully and post account corrections or adjustments in line with payer guidance and internal standards
- Verify patient statements for completeness and accuracy before they are finalized or communicated
- Handle requests related to financial assistance, legal record inquiries, and bankruptcy notifications while maintaining proper documentation
- Protect sensitive patient and account information by following confidentiality requirements and approved release procedures
- Provide courteous, attentive support to patients and visitors while addressing questions related to billing or account status
- Use billing platforms and related systems, including Cerner when applicable, to document activity and maintain accurate account records
- Perform additional assigned duties that contribute to revenue cycle operations and customer service support
Skills
- Previous experience in customer service within healthcare billing, patient accounts, or revenue cycle support
- Ability to interpret explanation of benefits forms and make accurate billing adjustments based on findings
- Working knowledge of medical billing follow-up, collections processes, charge entry, and patient financial services
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to audit account information and identify discrepancies
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment during Pacific Time Zone business hours
- Ability to comply with vaccination requirements and employment eligibility verification policies, where applicable
- Experience with Cerner and comparable billing or account management systems
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional education or related training in healthcare administration is a plus
