The role involves overseeing financial analysis, performance monitoring, and managing the finance department's day-to-day processes to ensure accurate reporting and improve internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial results for Mercy
- Financial analysis
- Monitoring organizational performance
- Benchmarking functional/service line operations
- Managing the forecasting process
- Manages the day-to-day processes within the Finance department to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all reports
- Processes to monitor and improve internal controls
- Provides analysis and support to administration
- Develops analytical tools and reports for departments
- Interprets data for all levels of the Community's operations
- Local oversight for patient access functions within the hospital setting
- Including the admitting functions and patient scheduling
- Responsible for recommending process improvement strategies and work simplification to ensure coordination and eliminate unnecessary or duplication of efforts within the areas of responsibility
- Must be able to work well with other finance professionals, administrative leaders and Mercy Shared Services
- Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university
- Requires a minimum of five years accounting or financial management experience or a level of practical experience necessary to enable efficient achievement of job requirements with a minimum level of day-to-day supervision
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Strong communication skills, ability to interact with departmental leaders
- Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under GAAP
- Ability to work with and preserve confidential information
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA
- Healthcare Financial reporting experience
