Sotheby’s Motorsport is the premier online auction platform for high-value cars, seeking a Growth Marketing Manager to enhance their email marketing and lifecycle performance. The role involves owning the email marketing strategy, optimizing campaigns, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth and improve marketplace liquidity.
Responsibilities
- Own SOMO’s email marketing strategy and execution across buyer and seller funnels
- Manage all campaigns, flows, segmentation, testing, and reporting in Klaviyo
- Build and optimize lifecycle flows including onboarding, abandoned registration,seller nurture, auction reminders, win/loss follow-ups, and re-engagement
- Improve open rates, click-through rates, seller conversion, and repeat transactionbehavior
- Partner with Product and Data to ensure event tracking, attribution, and reporting accuracy
- Develop A/B testing frameworks and continuously improve performance
- Develop & deploy targeted campaigns and update communication preferences
- Define hypotheses, run experiments, and optimize lifecycle touchpoints
- Use data to identify bottlenecks in seller acquisition, buyer engagement, and repeat behavior
- Improve marketplace liquidity through targeted email segmentation and activation
- Align email marketing with brand moments, partnerships, events, and paid campaigns
- Ensure email supports auction spikes around live events and high-profile listings
- Coordinate messaging across content, social, and performance channels
- Collaborate cross-functionally with social media lead, sales team, and auction support
- Support paid acquisition strategy across Meta, Google, and other performance channels
- Collaborate on budget allocation, creative testing, and campaign prioritization
- Help define landing page hypotheses and conversion experiments tied to paid traffic
- Monitor CAC, LTV, and funnel performance to inform spend decisions
- Partner with external agencies or internal resources to ensure execution quality and reporting clarity
- Align email retargeting and lifecycle touchpoints with paid acquisition efforts to improve blended ROI
- Own reporting dashboards for lifecycle KPIs
- Clearly communicate what’s working, what isn’t, and recommended tradeoffs
- Drive decisions through data — not opinion
Skills
- 3+ years in growth or lifecycle marketing
- Strong understanding of segmentation, deliverability, automation logic, and conversion funnels
- Proven experience owning growth outcomes, not just managing channels
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and making hard prioritization decisions
- Highly analytical and performance-oriented
- Previous experience with Klaviyo preferred
- Experience in marketplace, auction, DTC, or high-consideration purchase environments is a plus
- A passion for cars and the collector market is preferred
