## Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support and ensure efficient office operations

## Duties
– Efficiently handle calls from patients, providers, and vendors, ensuring all inquiries are managed professionally and promptly.
– Manage patient appointments within the Athenahealth EMR, coordinate with providers, and maintain an organized schedule.
– Process and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures and treatments.
– Verify patient eligibility and benefits for various insurance plans.
-Prepare and pre-chart insurance and administrative documentation ahead of patient visits.
– Handle patient payments, process collections, and manage payment plans and refunds.

-Process requests for medical records and ensure accurate data entry and maintenance.

– Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and administrative records.

-Provide additional administrative support as required to ensure efficient practice operations.

## Skills
– Previous experience in a medical office or similar administrative role preferred.

– Proficiency with Athenahealth EMR or willingness to learn and utilize the system.

– Excellent communication and customer service skills.

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

– Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

– Competence in managing multiple tasks and priorities.

– Working knowledge and understanding of reading patients’ explanation of benefits statements for the purpose of payment collections is required.

– Experience with insurance verification, referral verification, and and customer service will strengthen the application.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
