Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Piper Companies is seeking a PKI Administrator for a fully remote opportunity supporting a leading healthcare organization. The PKI Administrator will be responsible for managing and maturing the enterprise PKI environment, ensuring secure certificate lifecycle management across hybrid and cloud infrastructures.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain internal and external Certificate Authorities (Microsoft ADCS, HSM-integrated PKI, and public CAs such as DigiCert and Entrust)
- Manage CA hierarchy, certificate templates, CRLs, OCSP, and AIA/CDP configurations
- Oversee certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation processes across the enterprise
- Implement and maintain certificate lifecycle automation tools such as Venafi or CyberArk Certificate Manager
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell or Python to support PKI operations
- Enforce cryptographic policies and standards aligned with NIST, CAB Forum, and PCI-DSS frameworks
- Ensure PKI resilience through high availability design, backups, and disaster recovery testing
- Integrate PKI solutions with enterprise systems including IIS, F5/NetScaler, VPNs, MDM, and cloud platforms
Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise PKI environments
- Strong expertise with Microsoft ADCS and PKI architecture design
- Experience with Venafi or similar certificate lifecycle automation tools (required)
- Knowledge of cryptographic standards and compliance frameworks (NIST, PCI-DSS, CAB Forum)
- Experience working with HSMs and hybrid/cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in PowerShell or Python for scripting and automation
- Strong troubleshooting experience with SSL/TLS and enterprise certificate deployments
- Experience integrating PKI with web servers, network appliances, and enterprise systems
