HYR Global Source Inc is seeking a senior/principal-level GCP Data Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines. This role involves hands-on engineering, leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows on GCP
- Lead architecture decisions and enforce best practices for data engineering
- Ensure data quality, performance, and reliability across platforms
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
- Collaborate with product owners on roadmap and strategy
Skills
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer
- Apache Beam and Apache Airflow
- Python and SQL (strong hands-on coding)
- Data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipeline development
- GitHub or version control tools
- Experience in lead/principal or senior-level roles
- 10+ years in data engineering with strong GCP ecosystem experience
- Proven experience leading teams or acting as a technical lead
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Comfortable working in evolving environments and guiding strategy
- Experience mentoring and scaling engineering teams
- Java
- SnapLogic or similar ETL tools
- Experience with Dataplex, Looker Studio, gsutil
