Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Avantor is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Region Sales Director to lead a high-performing team across the state of Illinois. This individual will be responsible for managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio and driving strategic growth across key market segments, including Higher Education, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and Industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and set expectations with all sales associates in the region
- Continually evaluate associate progress and performance
- Provide formal and informal sales training to all sales associates in the assigned area
- Develop programs and selling strategies to motivate the sales force and stimulate sales
- Develop and maintain sound customer and supplier relations
- Directly handle contract negotiations for key accounts
- Prepare sales and gross margin forecasts for region territories and analyze and monitor sales data for the region
- Monitor and manage key product sales
- Successfully interface with internal customers and service providers such as NCO, Furniture division, Avantor Specialists, and Business Process Consultants
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- College degree or equivalent/applicable experience, required
- This position requires a valid driver's license to perform essential functions of the role
- Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Office, with preference for experience in Salesforce or Qlikview
- 2-5 years of proven leadership experience in team development and management, preferred
- Several years of successful outside sales experience, demonstrating strong industry knowledge and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated success operating in high-volume, performance-driven environments while balancing strategic and day-to-day execution
- Distribution experience and a scientific background and/or have worked in a laboratory or research environment
- Excellent presentation and coaching skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to resolve conflicts and solve problems efficiently
