Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Future Forward Labs specializes in empowering students to excel in STEM fields by providing advanced research mentoring programs. They are seeking a Sales Consultant to conduct consultative briefing sessions with prospective families, helping them understand the mentorship model and recommending appropriate programs.
Responsibilities
- Review the family's intake information — student's grade, interests, goals, and what prompted their inquiry
- Prepare a personalized angle based on the student's profile
- Confirm the appointment via Email/SMS
- Diagnose the family's goals — science fair wins, college admissions edge, genuine intellectual growth, or all three
- Explain how PhD-led original research mentorship works and why it's different from tutoring or other enrichment programs
- Handle objections with confidence and specifics
- Recommend the right program tier and present pricing
- Close on the call or set a concrete next step
- Log the outcome and notes in our CRM system
- Send a personalized follow-up
- Execute a short follow-up sequence (2–3 touches) for undecided families
- Curate the incoming leads from customers in your zone, ensuring most of them end up in a consultative call with you
- Communicate with the marketing team and founders
- Join a weekly sync to review performance, share patterns, and stay current on program updates
Skills
- You have experience in consultative or education-related sales — college consulting, tutoring programs, enrichment services, or similar high-consideration purchases where parents are the buyers
- You have a STEM background or genuine fluency in science and research — you can talk about the scientific method, literature reviews, and ISEF categories without faking it
- You're comfortable talking to affluent, high-expectation parents who ask sharp questions and expect substance over polish
- You can close without being pushy — you guide a conversation toward a decision, not pressure someone into one
- You're organized and reliable — you show up on time, follow up when you say you will, and keep clean notes
- You have a quiet space, a reliable internet connection, and availability for taking video calls every week during afternoons, evenings and weekends (when parents are available)
- A PhD in a STEM subject area
- Former admissions consultant, test prep advisor, or enrichment program seller
- Current or former science teacher with a flair of earning trust with families and influencing their decisions
- STEM-educated parent who understands the science fair landscape
- Experience selling to families in the $150K+ household income bracket
- Familiarity with ISEF, Regeneron STS, or regional science fair ecosystems
Benefits
- Mission-driven work — you're helping students do real research and build futures, not selling widgets
- Warm leads only — no cold calling, no prospecting, no rejection gauntlet
- Fully remote, flexible schedule — calls are scheduled around family availability, typically afternoons/evenings
- A service with strong product market fit — gives you real ammunition in every conversation
- Uncapped upside — the better you perform, the more you earn
