Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. IGS Energy is seeking a motivated and results-driven Solar Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join their Residential Solar team. This role focuses on generating qualified homeowner appointments for Solar Account Managers through high-volume outbound prospecting and lead qualification, contributing to pipeline development and customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Generate and qualify leads for residential solar through high-volume outbound prospecting, including phone calls, email outreach, and SMS communication
- Engage with prospective customers to introduce residential solar solutions, assess initial interest, and determine qualification based on established criteria (homeownership, energy usage, and eligibility factors)
- Schedule qualified appointments for Solar Account Managers, ensuring all required information is captured and accurately documented
- Execute structured follow-up efforts to confirm appointments, improve show rates, and maintain consistent multi-touch engagement with prospective customers
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, customer interactions, lead status, and pipeline progression within CRM systems
- Collaborate closely with Solar Account Managers to ensure high-quality appointment handoff and alignment on prospect expectations
- Consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly activity and performance metrics, including call volume, contact rates, and appointments set
- Build interest and maintain engagement by utilizing strong communication and objection-handling skills when speaking with prospective customers
- Effectively manage time and prioritize outreach efforts to maintain a steady pipeline of qualified appointments
- Stay informed on residential solar offerings, basic industry concepts, and company value propositions to effectively communicate with prospective customers
- Occasional travel required for company sponsored training and events
Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and engage customers over the phone
- Comfortable working in a high-volume outbound calling environment with activity-based performance expectations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Self-motivated and results-driven, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance goals
- Ability to manage multiple communication channels including outbound calls, email, and SMS
- Ability to handle objections, navigate customer concerns, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook and Excel) and CRM platforms
- Highly adaptable with the ability to respond effectively to feedback and process changes
- Ability to work in a remote or hybrid environment as required
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis
- Interest in renewable energy and sustainability preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field or Minimum of 1 year prior experience in sales, customer service, call center, or lead generation role is preferred
- Experience working in a metrics-driven environment is preferred
- Experience with CRM systems is preferred
