Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Zest for Tech is a Series B backed startup focused on scaling their advanced agentic systems. They are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own and evolve core AI platform capabilities, design multi-agent architectures, and drive high-impact AI initiatives from concept through production deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve core AI platform capabilities across search, retrieval, and multi agent systems
- Design and lead the development of multi agent architectures, defining new agent capabilities and collaboration patterns
- Build and scale document processing pipelines covering ingestion, parsing, chunking, indexing, and structured data extraction
- Improve search and retrieval systems through ranking, query understanding, and question-answering enhancements
- Develop and expand knowledge graph capabilities to support reasoning, retrieval, and entity relationships
- Drive high impact AI initiatives from concept through experimentation and production deployment
- Establish evaluation frameworks and experimentation methodologies to measure and improve system quality
- Write production-grade code and contribute to engineering best practices across the team
Skills
- 7+ years of experience building and deploying production ML/AI systems
- Strong expertise in agentic systems, LLM applications, and orchestration frameworks
- Deep experience with document processing pipelines, including parsing, chunking, indexing, and structured extraction
- Hands-on experience designing scalable distributed systems, ideally with Kubernetes
- Knowledge of knowledge graphs, provenance graphs, and entity relationship modelling
- Background in search, ranking, NLP, recommendation systems, or large scale ML infrastructure
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, or similar languages, with a focus on production environments
- Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous projects and deliver business impact
- Analytical and product-minded approach, using data to inform decisions
