As a Senior Software Engineer for the Health100 platform, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs, ensuring smooth release cycles and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Partner with technical leaders and the open-source community to contribute to technical designs, frameworks, roadmap definition, and requirements-gathering
- Provide domain knowledge and engineering insight to guide early designs, accelerate project decision-making, and maintain close oversight of technical execution
- Encourage and maintain engineering excellence within the team to build reliable distributed systems that our customers can build their business on
- Plot and execute on the path from prototype to production for features
- Collaborate with business, product, architecture, security, digital, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions that address customer needs, solve complex challenges, and drive continuous improvement
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture by demonstrating ownership, accountability, and enthusiasm while contributing to automation initiatives and supporting high-performing remote teams
Skills
- 5+ years of Java development experience utilizing Spring Boot and/or Spring MVC with ability to work in Cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure and end-to-end DevOps pipeline
- 3+ experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems
- Strong skills in relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Strong foundation in software engineering: problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency, agile methodologies and sprint planning best practices
- Experience coordinating release cycles, preparing release notes, and ensuring all development tasks and dependencies are tracked
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)
- Healthcare domain experience-e.g. PBM/NCPDP/HIPAA
- Prior experience in a hybrid role involving both software development and release/operations management
- Experience with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform
- Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.)
- Experience with SRE or DevOps practices, including incident management and root-cause analysis
