Position in this function is responsible for the coordination and completion of projects across various functional areas. Typically, employees in this function are working towards or have achieved certification in project management. Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on established project management techniques. Makes presentations to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope. May manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations. Incumbents maybe part of a project management office (PMO) in their business. Project Management roles specific to a particular functional area should be assigned to that family where appropriate (e.g. IT Project Managers should be placed in the IT Family). *Employees in jobs labeled with ‘SCA’ must support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead or contribute to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program/project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
• Identify project duration, effort, sequence and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives
• Drive/participate in the capital request process, as appropriate (e.g. presentations, cost-benefit analysis, business case)
• Monitor and document project milestones and outcomes throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to established quality standards
• Develop, communicate and implement program and project risk, issue management plans and strategies to support operations
• May lead functional or segment teams or projects and serve as a leader/ mentor by reviewing work performed by others and provide recommendation for improvement

This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively lead project teams and build relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping the team on track within the project scope and timeline.

Required Qualifications:
• 5 years of project management experience using data and information to make business decisions
• 2 years of Medicaid and Medicare data
• 2 years performing Operational duties (Change Requests, incident tracking and SLAs)
• Experience leading and/or coaching a team
• Background in Data warehousing concepts
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications:
• PMP Certification
• Exposure to EDI transactions 834 and 837

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
