Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Manager at blithequark, you'll be responsible for a broad range of activities, divided into three main areas: Strategy & Planning, Delivery & Execution, and People.
Strategy & Planning (50%)
- Develop a deep understanding of our end-users and translate their needs into product strategies that drive value.
- Communicate product direction and priorities to development teams, matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
- Identify key metrics and analytics to measure product value and continually refine the product backlog based on learnings.
- Partner with Finance to understand financial needs and assist in creating business plans for new opportunities.
- Stay abreast of market research and competitive landscape to recommend solutions that keep our products best-in-class.
Delivery & Execution (20%)
- Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories, incorporating them into release planning.
- Make daily product decisions that drive value, considering pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
- Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
- Simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
People (30%)
- Foster collaboration with team members to drive value and resolve impediments.
- Advocate for modern software development practices and champion the end-user's needs.
- Guide junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
- Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy.
- Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities.
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Senior Product Manager at blithequark, you'll need:
Essential Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in product management, preferably in a modern software development environment.
- Legal permission to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-6 years of relevant work experience with a proven track record in product management.
- Experience with agile methodologies, specifically extreme programming (XP) principles.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories.
- Strong skills in user research, competitive analysis, and identifying metrics to measure product value.
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence team members at all levels.
