About the role
Our SAAS platform is seen as one of the best in the DAM industry and we attribute a big part of our success to the talented and hardworking engineers we have in our tech teams. We are becoming one of the fastest-growing scale-ups of The Netherlands and have big plans and the ambition to be the fastest-growing scale-up in the world. This is why we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who would like to grow with us!
In order to execute our vision, we need to grow our team of best-in-class engineers. We are looking for a senior software engineer who is excited about launching new products and features into production, who can work autonomously and isn't afraid to try new technologies, and who doesn't back down from the challenges of scale.
What You’ll Do
Shape the technical vision to elevate Bynder’s platform and improve how we work, driving impactful technical discussions and collaborating with your team to make informed decisions.
Lead by example: design, write, and maintain clean, high-quality code—primarily in Python and Java
Partner closely with product managers to create features that truly resonate with our users.
Take ownership of projects, defining the challenges to solve and guiding your team toward impactful solutions.
Foster a culture of growth by providing and receiving direct, constructive, and actionable feedback.
What You’ll Bring as a Senior Backend Engineer
Expertise in your domain: advanced experience in backend development and architecture, with a proven ability to propose and implement scalable solutions to complex problems.
Experience: 5-8 years in software development, including 2+ years mentoring teams of 4-5 engineers
Ownership mindset: a track record of taking ownership of projects, communicating goals clearly, and driving them to successful completion.
Technical excellence: strong knowledge of backend APIs, distributed systems, microservices, and database management (relational and non-relational).
Adaptability: experience working with agile methodologies, high-quality coding practices, and automated testing.
Collaboration skills: the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, articulating ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
