Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, testable, and scalable software solutions for Apple's at-home integration features.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and UX designers, throughout the entire product lifecycle – from concept to launch and beyond.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of new features, ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code in C++ and other relevant programming languages.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and participate in agile development methodologies.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges related to spatial computing and device interaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in software engineering, spatial computing, and related technologies.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the team and our products.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal tools and infrastructure.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control (e.g., Git), and unit testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for exploring new technologies and a demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Strong interest in technologies related to spatial awareness, proximity, and device interaction.
- Experience with data structures and algorithms, and a strong understanding of software design patterns.
- Familiarity with mobile operating systems (iOS) and/or application development.
- Knowledge of computer vision principles and techniques.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) concepts.
- Experience with wireless communication protocols (UWB, WiFi, BLE).
- Experience with embedded systems or hardware interaction.
Essential Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ and OOP.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python or Matlab.
- Deep understanding of proficient software engineering principles and best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, and testing methodologies.
