About the Role
As a Senior Software Project Manager at Apptronik, you will play a pivotal role in the software organization, overseeing end-to-end delivery of software projects for our team of engineers. You will be responsible for establishing project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of software, and serving as a key liaison between engineering teams. Your expertise will be crucial in aligning software development with hardware delivery and facilitating successful handoffs and coordination between teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Develop and manage project plans, resource allocation, and budgeting.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, hardware, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure software development is aligned with hardware delivery and facilitate successful handoffs.
- Manage and track project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the software team.
- Communicate project status, plans, and results to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and best practices in software development.
- Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or related discipline).
- 2+ years of experience in software project management, preferably with a focus on Agile methodologies.
- A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects across diverse teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production software deployments to edge hardware and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git, Bitbucket, and Ansible.
- Familiarity with project management tools, particularly the Atlassian stack (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
- Proficiency in business software tools, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with robotics applications, such as SLAM, Motion Planning and Control, and Autonomy.
- Familiarity with Edge compute hardware and applications.
- Experience with deploying machine learning or AI-based software deployments.
- An MBA or other master's level education.
