Job Summary:

The Senior Community Relations and Communications Manager will be responsible for strategically managing The Standard’s corporate philanthropy and The Standard Charitable Foundation, increasing visibility, and building The Standard’s brand, and facilitating employee giving and community involvement. This role is the primary contact and is responsible for all community relations communications, including Employee Giving Campaign, annual Community Engagement Report, press releases and CR focused social media.

Community… Relations and Philanthropy:
• Develop and maintain relationships with leaders in the local nonprofit and corporate community and represent the company to both internal employees and the nonprofit community.
• Design and execute comprehensive programs that align the company’s Community Relations priorities, manage budgets and partner with key business segments as necessary.
• Meet with nonprofit organizations seeking contributions or employee volunteers.
• Manage, review and respond to all incoming external and field office requests for corporate giving, Foundation grants or employee volunteers. Based on giving priorities, make recommendations to Senior Director, Community Relations, about volunteer opportunities, corporate giving and sponsorship requests.
• Manage, maintain and track all records and files for corporate giving/sponsorship and the Foundation ensuring accurate record keeping. Manage all aspects of corporate contributions and sponsorship including budget, cultural passes, table guest lists, branding/logo, printed ads, acknowledgement and tickets.
• Create and organize Foundation docket and proposal for twice annual Foundation board meetings. Ensure all expenses are in line with budget, pay all contributions, Foundation grants and sponsorships. Decline ineligible requests by email or telephone. Represent The Standard externally and internally at 35-50 events in a manner consistent with the Community Relations strategy and structure.
• Manage the board leadership program for The Standard. Coordinate board leadership search and matching program. Maintain and update current list of employee nonprofit and civic board relationships.
• Develop and coordinate Board Training program, including basics training, on-going board support and training, and resource library. Allocate resources to board relationships in accordance with overall Community Relations corporate giving priorities. Perform other leadership development duties as assigned.

Strategic Communications:
• Develop internal and external annual communications strategy to promote The Standard’s Community Relations impact on the community with employees, community stakeholders, Government Relations stakeholders, sales, and business leaders.
• Represent Community Relations in Corporate Communications staff and editorial meetings.
• Update and maintain Community Relations internal SharePoint site and provide timely updates to standard.com.
• Assist and support outside PR firm as necessary and/or requested.
• Continue training to become a secondary or back-up media spokesperson.
• Support business and sales teams with RFP support as needed.
• Respond to all data requests from business and manage external award nomination process.

Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs.
• Assist VP, External Affairs and Government & Regulatory Affairs Director to effectively represent The Standard’s interests before federal, state and local legislative and regular authorities.
• Represent The Standard in industry, business and trade associations. Build and maintain positive relationships with elected and appointed government officials and staff.

Skills and Background You’ll Need:
• Education:Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, education or related field
• 7+ years in public relations, marketing, public liaison role, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
• Experience working with non-profit organizations (preferred)
• Excellent public relations skills (written and oral)
• Availability to attend events outside of work hours to represent the company.

Please note – the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
• Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:
$88,250.00 – $129,500.00
