Job Description:
• Advise on customs compliance matters, including valuation, classification, and country of origin determinations for imported goods.
• Review, draft, and negotiate documentation related to import/export compliance, low-value and express shipments, and trade regulations.
• Counsel clients on regulatory, risk, and compliance considerations in U.S. and cross-border trade operations.
• Monitor and communicate relevant changes in customs and trade laws to internal business partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and legal, to ensure compliance with customs requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of internal compliance policies, training, and governance frameworks.
Requirements:
• Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory)
• Experience with customs valuation, classification, and country of origin rules (mandatory)
• At least 1 year of in-house legal experience (preferred)
• Experience with e-commerce or express shipments (preferred)
• Juris Doctor (JD) required; active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
