RB Contracting Services is a Cleveland, Ohio-based government contracting company. We are expanding into product-based government contracts and need a skilled sourcing specialist to support our bidding operation.
The Role
We bid on government contracts requiring a wide range of products — general merchandise that varies contract to contract. We need someone who can quickly identify certified, verified suppliers (domestic and international) and provide competitive pricing so we can submit accurate, winning bids.
Important: We bid frequently but do not win every contract. You must be comfortable working in a bid-based environment where sourcing requests happen often but purchase orders only follow when we win.
What You'll Do
Research and identify certified suppliers for various product categories as contracts arise
Verify supplier certifications, quality standards, and fulfillment capabilities
Obtain competitive pricing and lead times for bid preparation
Source from both domestic and Asian manufacturers (TAA-designated countries a plus)
Provide country of origin documentation when required
Maintain a growing database of vetted, certified suppliers by product category
Respond quickly — government bids often have tight 1–2 week deadlines
What We're Looking For
Proven experience finding and vetting certified suppliers (ISO, quality certifications, etc.)
Strong network of verified manufacturers and distributors — Asia connections a major plus
Experience supporting government contractors or understanding of government procurement a bonus
Ability to turn around sourcing requests fast (24–72 hours)
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal hand-holding
What We Are NOT Looking For
Someone who just searches Alibaba with no existing supplier relationships
Agents who require large upfront retainers before performing any work
Generalists with no verifiable sourcing track record
