Job Summary:
As an ECE Instructional Assistant #1, you will work closely with our teaching team to provide instructional support, assist with documentation of pupil progress, and help prepare materials and equipment for our Early Childhood Program. You will also have the opportunity to assist with bus supervision and support students during loading and unloading. This is a unique chance to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and contribute to the success of our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to students in the Early Childhood Program, including tutoring and assisting with lesson plans
- Assist with documentation of pupil progress, including data entry and record-keeping
- Prepare and organize materials and equipment for instructional activities
- Support bus driver in supervising, loading, and unloading students
- Develop strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Passing score on the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment Exam (KPA) or 48 college semester hours
- Demonstrated competent language skills, including ability to read and understand meanings of words and ideas
- Successful experience working with children, individually or in groups
- Program-specific certifications/training (e.g., bus monitoring training)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Experience working in an Early Childhood Program or similar setting
- Certifications in child development, education, or related field
