About the Role: Pharmacy Technician and Data Entry Specialist
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Pharmacy Technician and Data Entry Specialist to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be the front and center – interacting with our customers and developing strong patient relationships. You will be responsible for assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, according to state, federal, and company policy. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pharmacist in the performance of other Pharmacy department duties according to company policies and procedures
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
- Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products
- Resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
- Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers
- Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered efficiently
- Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical tablets, verifying medication is accurate, and checking for possible interactions
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have the following essential qualifications:
- Be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 18 years old
Preferred qualifications include:
- Six months of experience in a retail environment
- Previous work experience with Walgreens
- Desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Good computer skills
- Knowledge of store inventory control
- CPhT certification
