Role Overview
As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience in a variety of settings, from elementary to high school, and make a positive impact on the lives of students. Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with diverse learning styles
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators to ensure a seamless learning experience
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to think on your feet and adjust to changing circumstances
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in education
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first

Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute teaching role
- Special education training or experience working with students with diverse needs
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience with educational technology and digital platforms
- A Master's degree in Education or a related field
